We’ve included a small excerpt about each show, and a little bit about our experiences. This way you can see where we’ve been, and where we’ll be!
AppleJack Festival
Nebraska City, Nebraska
September 2020
Nebraska City’s historic AppleJack Festival annually draws between 60,000 and 80,000 people to Nebraska City to celebrate the kickoff of the apple harvest. With over 6 craft fairs, a parade, a classic car show, live music, and a 3-day carnival, it’s no wonder the AppleJack Festival has been named as one of the top 10 Fall Harvest Festivals in America by the USA Today!
This three day festival is one of my favorites to attend every year. In past years, we have opted for an outdoor booth, which allowed the zookeepers to enjoy the sunshine (...and a little bit of rain. Good thing the penguins and koi fish didn't mind!) As usual, AppleJack's festival produced a big, exciting crowd and we enjoyed every minute of it! Can't wait to see you there this year!
Applewood Arts Festival
Highlands Ranch, Colorado
November 2019
Located at Highlands Ranch High School in Highlands Ranch, this show spotlights over 130 selected artisans. Mixing Art, Handmade, vintage, cottage creations and repurposed, many of which are new to the festival! The event also includes a photo booth complete with props and a tote for all shoppers!
This show was recommended to me by family that have attended this show as shoppers! Looking forward to spreading my wings and meeting the fun crowds of Highlands Ranch!
Best of Spring
Riverdale Regional Park and Fairgrounds, Brighton, Colorado
May 2019
31st Annual! This show benefits the Adams County Historical Society and Museum. All vendors are creators and all merchandise is to be handcrafted by the individual! The treasures found here are truly made with care and love.
Cabin Fever Craft Show
Bee States Ballroom, Bee, Nebraska
February 2019
This year was the 4th Annual Cabin Fever Show! This event is held in and for the benefit of the historic ROUND State Ballroom located in Bee, Nebraska. The Ballroom holds a raffle of donated items that benefit the maintenance and restoration of the Ballroom! This event features nearly 40 local crafters and vendor consultants, all while shoppers have the opportunity to purchase beer, wine, and raffle tickets! All proceeds go to the Bee States Ballroom Restoration Project!
2019 was the first year the Zoo has attended this show. Since Brenda is originally from a town of 120 population, we were excited to meet and celebrate this slice of history! They didn’t disappoint!
Dandelion Daze
June 2020
Phillips County Courthouse Lawn, Holyoke, Colorado
The Holyoke Chamber of Commerce introduced its 19th Annual Dandelion Daze! Showcasing a mix of an “old school” car show and shine, and a variety of arts and crafts, there’s something for everyone at Dandelion Daze! Cars, awards, free kid and family games, poker run, food, music, and more. Hope to see you there again!
Estes Valley Sunrise Rotary Labor Day Arts & Crafts Show
Bond Park, Estes Park, Colorado
September 2018-2022
The Estes Park Arts and Crafts Show is held every year over Labor Day weekend in downtown Estes Park just west of the Town Hall and Library on Elkhorn Ave. Over 100 artisans offer one-of-a-kind handcrafted items for you to purchase or just to enjoy viewing. The weather is usually beautiful and facilitates a weekend of unique shopping in the heart of Estes Park. Many visitors make it an extended weekend with all that Estes has to offer - fabulous shops, restaurants, lodging and of course Rocky Mountain National Park.
2018 was my first year attending the juried show, and I have been looking forward going each year since! The Zoo inventory is full and abundant and we can't wait to see you there!
First United Methodist Church Craft Fair
First United Methodist Church, North Platte, Nebraska
December 2020
“The Craft Fair at First Church is an incredible event that builds community. We have some of the best craft vendors in the state, some of the greatest food in the state, and some of the best shoppers in the state. It is a great fair that benefits a great church." 2020 was the 33rd annual holiday craft fair!
The First United Methodist Church Craft Fair is a great holiday show to attend annually. Small businesses and creators come together to celebrate their craft. This intimate setting allows for great one on one interactions with customers and is a great experience for first time craft fair attendees.
Perkins County Chamber Christmas Open House
Meadowlark Gallery, Grant, Nebraska
November 2019
The Christmas Open house is an annual event hosted by the Chamber of Commerce. Local businesses are open for extended hours on this Thursday evening before Thanksgiving to start the holiday season off with a special small town flair. The non retail businesses (banks, art gallery, library, senior citizen center, etc…) open their lobbies to local crafters, bakers, artisans and vendors to display their wares. Christmas lights are lit and the Santa is sure to be there with treats and pictures!
Holly Daze
HJHS Old Gym, Holyoke, Colorado
October 2019
2019 was the 57th annual show for this grand event! Priority was given to artisans and crafters so the majority of the show is handcrafted. Be sure to check their Facebook page for a preview of the vendors that are scheduled for this year!
Ogallala/Keith County Craft & Vendor Show
Keith County Fairgrounds, Ogallala, Nebraska
November 2019
“Homemade for the Holidays” was the theme this year for the Ogallala Fall Arts and Crafts show. It is held annually at the Keith County Fairgrounds. This year's show was expected to host 70+ vendors of arts and crafts. Alongside The Zoo will be jellies, jewelry, wooden items, purses, face painting, and much more!
The Keith County craft show is close to home, and is a fun one to attend. The smaller curated feel of the vendors brings lots of people from all ages, to try new things, enjoy the atmosphere, and support local businesses!
Spring Fling/Arts in the Park
Cody Park, North Platte, Nebraska
April 2019 and September 2019, respectively
Spring Fling and Arts in the Park are craft festivals held annually in North Platte, Nebraska in the famous Cody Park. It is host to over 150 vendors of unique crafts, arts, and vendors, as well as food trucks and entertainment!
2019 was the first year of the Zoo attending the Spring Fling Show! It was a great day with great people. Arts In the Park is always a fun and relaxed festival that I've attended in past years. It creates a hometown feel, with many talented and unique artists! It makes for a fun afternoon to stroll through if you're ever in the area. Keep in touch for my booth information this year!
